Cinque Terre

Traveling to Cinque Terre June 15-17. I made reservations with Hotel Amici months ago. Now that my upcoming stay is getting closer, I have not received any email from them to confirm my reservation.
I looking for any hotel recommendations, preferably in Monterosso.
Thank you

bg,

You might try to contact them again, just to confirm your reservation. It's possible they did receive your reservations, but didn't bother to confirm it. I would try that before booking another hotel, especially at this late date.

I have emailed them multiple times & tried calling them on the phone. The phone just rings. Unfortunately I may have deleted my reservations but kept my confirmation number on file.
I'm getting desperate & looking for suggestions on other hotels to book as Hotel Ameci is fully booked on my planned dates. This hotel is one of Rick Steves recommended places to stay.

bg,

It's a bit unusual that they're not replying to both E-mails and phone calls.

For other hotel suggestions, try the places listed in the RS Italy guidebook. This list may also help - http://rebuildmonterosso.com/visitors-information/ . I don't know when it was last updated, but it should be reasonably current. At this late date, you'll have to take what you can get. Although they're probably already booked, you could try.....

  • Hotel Villa Steno
  • Hotel Pasquale
  • Hotel Villa Adriana
  • Hotel Porto Roca

Good luck!

BG, If you can't land anything in the CT itself, try Levanto as it's just the next town north of Monterosso and only 4 minutes or so by train. That's an oft-recommended fallback when the CT is booked up, although the best choices there can also book up early.

Here are a couple of prior threads with hotel mentions there, and get onto www.booking.com to explore availability/price for a larger selection.

A few years ago, I inquired about reserving a room in Florence and did not get a reply. As Rick stated, they don't always respond if they don't have an available room, I reserved a different hotel. When we got home, my credit card had been charged for the first hotel. I tried to dispute it with the help of the card co., but I ended up having to pay for it. Not that it made any difference, but it was a Rick recommended hotel. I wish you good luck with your problem.

bg,

It's great to hear that you've got the problem sorted. Did they provide directions on how to reach the hotel? It's an easy walk from the station but if you have a lot of heavy luggage, you may want to take a Taxi from the station to the piazza in the "old town" as that will make the walk a bit easier. From the piazza, take the side street to the left just before Ristorante Ciak and go uphill to reach the hotel.
