Can someone give me a few places to search that have these accomodations and the best time of the year to book it. I've found some great places are already booked. We're not going until May/June of 2011! Others tell us we can't even make a reservation until this fall. What works best?? What are some favorite places that might work for us?? Thanks!!
We are going in about 6 weeks and I just made a reservation in Riomagiorre, the contact is [email protected]; (its listed in RS book) We got an apt. with a terrace and sea view, for around E120/night, for 2 people. Its the "Guilia" apt/suite-has anyone stayed there?
Just went to the CT last year and although it was a nice place to see I think 4 nights would absolutely drive me insane with boredom. We stayed for 2 nights and that was plenty for us.
I know everyone is different, but just be sure that's what you really want to do before you pay a deposit for some sort of apartment rental.
2 nights would be plenty, try Francamaria rooms. You will want rooms 1 and 2, which are side by side, sharing a common front door but different private doors. Great rooms right on the Piazza, with only 7 steps. Caio, Jeff
Try La Marina Rooms in Vernazza. Great 2 bedroom apartment with a private sea view balcony. We spent 4 nights there and it was definitely a highlight to our trip. Hope you don't mind stairs though!
Many opinions on how much time to spend in the C.T. On our first visit here in June '02 we daytripped in and knew we wanted to return and spend more time. We returned in July '06 and spent 3 nights in Vernazza which was wonderful. Returned again in July '09 and spent 4 nights in Vernazza, Francamaria's rm 2 with great harbor view, and we loved every minute! Took the boat one day to Portovenere which was beautiful. We were here when Vernazza was celebrating their patron saint day. Lots going on with a stage on the square and entertainment, organized games for children and the night of July 20 a huge fireworks display. We really love the evenings in Vernazza--sitting down by the water and enjoying they local wine. Buon Viaggio!
