Cinque Terre

I will be going on my honeymoon at the end of April and I plan on spending 2-3 nights in Cinque Terre. We had originally planned on staying in Vernazza but I'm very uncertain of it's current condition. Does anyone know if it will be up and running by the end of April? If not, what town is most comparable?

Ashley, First of all, congratulations!!! As the previous reply mentioned, it's highly unlikely that Vernazza will be ready to accept visitors by April. However, it's certainly possible they will have a very limited capacity restored by that time, so you may be able to stop there on a day trip. Local authorities have stated that they plan to have all the trails open by Easter, so hopefully they can achieve that. It would help to have a bit more information on the criteria that you're looking for, in order to recommend what's "most comparable"? I'd suggest checking the Guidebook to get some idea of the "character" of each of the villages. Considerng the importance of the occasion, a couple of suggestions you might consider..... www.torrettas.com (Manarola) www.labouganville.net (new town section of Monterosso) I didn't suggest any lodgings in the old town section of Monterosso, as I'm not sure what their status will at the end of April. However, you could send an E-mail to www.villasteno.com/en/ and enquire. I stayed there in September and it was an incredible Hotel! Whatever you choose, it would be a really good idea to BOOK SOON! Happy travels!

you shouldn't plan on Vernazza being ready by April, the damage was pretty severe if somehow it's hotels are ready that would be fantastic but you should make hotel reservations elsewhere and just follow the progress for Vernazza any of the other villages would be fine
you really have to find what suits you
