Cinque Terra hotel

The 2 hotels that RS recommends are sold outfor the night I need. Can anyone recommend a good b & b or hotel in one of the CT towns or a town nearby? Thanks - Beth

We just got back from our trip and stayed at La Mala in Vernazza. It is a pricier option, but we loved it. The terrace in the back was amazing. They only have 4 rooms so it may be booked but you never know. They have a website just search Google.

Beth, if you could indicate which town and which hotels are sold out, I'm sure the group here could make some suggesions for alternate locations.

La Mala in Vernazza is a higher end option - but looks beautiful online. We're booked there in a couple of weeks:

You may also like to try Trip Advisor or similar sites -- there are other places to stay in Vernazza that Rick doesn't list. On our trip there we stayed in one of Rick's recommendations and didn't enjoy it at all, whereas a fellow tourist found a much nicer private residence for less. Rick (et al.) can't list everything, but that doesn't mean there aren't other good ones there.

I'd like to echo the sentiments of above posters that La Mala in Vernazza is a great place to stay. We stayed there in April 2007 after deciding to take a flyer on it (not much information on Trip Advisor, etc. yet at that time) and we loved it.

It would appear there are less expensive places to stay but we enjoyed our splurge spent here - the terrace overlooking the sea was worth the price of admission alone!

We just had a very nice stay at Hotel Margherita in Monterosso.

We stayed at Gianni Franzi in Vernazza, which also has an amazing terrace. The terrace was worth every one of the 100 steps up to our room!!
