Any opinions on best Village for family of 7? We are 2 adults and children ages 22-13. Will be there for 3 nights in May. Want to hike and spend time at the beach.
Possible accommodations in Riamaggiore, Manitoba or Monterosso. I know each one is unique in its own way.
Monterosso has by far the best beach in the Cinque Terre. . Spell check your post re: Manitoba!
Manarola?
Monterosso, if looking for beach time. It's really the only one with a beach of any size. Bring water shoes, and understand that not all beach space is public; some of it is private.

Can't help with accommodations for a group your size except to caution that you're late in the game if looking to book 4 adults + 3 teens for this May. Hopefully someone else has some suggestions! You might also plug your dates into booking.com and see what comes up? Just be sure to look at the actual locations of the properties as you want something IN town and not far up in the hills. You will also be looking at apartments or booking multiple rooms.
Oops Manarola
I don’t need help with accommodations just wanted any opinions on where to make our home base from those 3 towns. Thanks!
Monterosso or Levanto, which is not officially one of the Cinque Terre but it’s only 3-5 min by train from Monterosso. No beaches whatsoever at Manarola or Riomaggiore.
Winnipeg has some beaches nearby on the homonymous lake, in case you’d like to explore Manitoba,
Oops, sorry about the accommodation stuff. The last sentence in your original post made it sound like you were looking for help in that department.
By home base, are you just talking about where everyone can meet?
Monterosso is big and spread-out (compared to the other four) so, there's all sorts of places you can post-up and have everyone meet you. You can also choose Corniglia, in the middle of the five, perched up on the bluff so that'll keep the crowds at bay and small enough town that getting lost shouldn't be an issue.
zcorsair, I think the OP means one place to bed down for all 3 nights, and do their hiking and sightseeing from that singular base.
Hotel Porto Roca in Monterosso has a private beach so take a look to see if they have room for your dates.
I would also suggest Monterosso as it's the largest of the five towns and has the greatest number of hotels, restaurants and other tourist facilities. As mentioned it also has the best beaches both in the "new town" and a small beach in the "old town". One point to note is that part of the beaches are "pay-per-use". Your hotel there would be able to provide further information on that.
If you're planning to hike the Sentiero Azzurro (No. 2) trails, not all of them may be open and you'll need a park pass. There's an extensive network of trails in that area and the pass is only required for the No. 2 trails. It's very easy to get to any of the towns using the local trains.
