I will be in cinque terra 4 full days in early June. I think I only need about 2 days to hang and hike in CT. What are some suggestions for travel by train day trips from CT?

Le Cinque Terre are not an ideal location for a base for day trips to too many places.
Within striking distance there is Portofino area, Porto Venere, Monte Marcello. Some people visit Lucca and or Pisa, but neither is super close.

Two days of hiking and a day trip by ferry to Porto Venere! It is a lovely town. Also, do not miss the opportunity to get off the main streets of each of the five towns. Rick Steves has a self-guided walk in his guide for each town. we enjoyed these walks very much.
Try hiking somewhere other than the Sentiero Azzuro. If you go up higher, you'll find fewer people. Lots of good info on the blog www.APathtoLunch.com.
