Cingue Terre the end of October

Would you recommend going to CT for a couple days at the very end of October or would we be likely to encounter wet conditions and a lot of stuff already closed. We are not really interested in sun bathing or swimming but I think we would enjoy the area. The other option I am considering is Bologna for the last two days of October. We will be leaving Milan on Oct 30 and not arriving in Florence until November 1. We have been to Lake Como, Venice and the Dolomites. I would also appreciate any other recommendations.

Hotels, restaurants, and train service will not be closed. At the end of last October, there were a few days of notable storms interspersed with nice, sunny weather. As long as the weather is good, the local tourist boat also runs through October: www.navigazionegolfodeipoeti.it.

We've been there 3 times in mid-to-late October and had great weather. The "season" does not officially end until Oct 31 so restaurants and lodging are not a problem. Neither the Cinque Terre nor Bologna should be crowded at that time. You might be able to wing it and early in the week scope out the weather forecast and make a decision.

That said, It is a long way to travel from Milan for two nights/one day. Bologna is easier and gives you less train time/more touring time.
