ok i am a smoker(no lectures) but does anyone know how expenseve they are in italy.a saw that you can only bring one carton in with you, THANKS
I don't know the cost (I don't smoke cigarettes- cigars and pipe on occasion), but I can say that a lot of the Sicilians and Italians do smoke them. You might see if you can find a link to an Italian site that has prices.
Tobacco shops did seem rather common- but I didn't smoke while I was there.
I just googled "Italy Tobacco Prices"; there is a fair amount of information available. It looked like around 4 Euros a pack- but I may be reading it wrong.
As a smoker, I have purchased cigarettes in Italy many times. I believe last year they were about 4 euros a pack. Everyone smokes Marlboro lights over there but I did see many brands of smokes also.
I noticed the Americans loading up on cigarettes in the duty free shop in the Rome Airport.
