Cicchetti Tour Venice?

Is the tour worth it or can we walk into wine bars and resturants and experience it ourselves? We are 29 and 30 so looking for a good experience :)

Danielle, Alessandro's Cicchetti Tour is a fine time visiting great chicchetti bars, and you will get plenty of food and drink for your money, a great value. Do the tour and then continue on your own, that evening or another evening later in your visit. I doubt you would fine such great places on your own. Highly recommended, and the tour has an excellent rep with RS travelers in Venice.

My family had a blast doing the Cichetti Tour with Row Venice on Monday! We used our new "Cichetti" spotting skills to find great Cichetti bars in other parts of the City, too.

Probably not necessary to do a tour - just go to a district that is a bit away from the tourist areas and look for a bunch of locals hanging around outside after about 6pm. But we loved combining it with rowing lessons!

You can easily walk to any of the bars on your own. I enjoyed the tour offered by Allesandro from Rick's book and it was around 25 euro. Had a ton of wine to drink and eat. He is a great guide and good local stories.

I've seen the one by RowVenice and I want to try that next time in Venice in 2016. Different experience to also get a rowing lesson and not just ride in one during the day.

Danielle, I also, recommend Allessandro's tour. We did his city tour followed by the cicchetti tour. Very enjoyable and educational time.

I also did Alessandro's tour last fall when traveling solo to Venice. It was totally Americans on the tour and a good opportunity to visit with others from the US. The wine flows and the food is really good. For the price, it's definitely a good experience and one you couldn't duplicate on your own. You can visit the wine bars by yourself, but Alessandro himself, plus the other tour members make it worth the money.
