Cicchetti sampling in Venice-on my own!!

Hey Everyone... I'm tempted to signup for one of those 2.5 hour cicchetti tours in Venice but I figured that I could plan one on my own instead of a guided tour. I plan to walk around Venice the whole and will try to hit the cicchetti places on the way. Any recommendations on your favorite ones?

Cantina Do Spade is, IMO, better than Cantina Do Mori. Both are in San Polo. I also like Banco Giro in San Polo. On the other side of the Grand Canal, we like Ca’ d’Oro/Alla Vedova.

Vivien,

On a recent trip, I enjoyed cicchetti at All'Merica (I think I spelled it correctly). It is near the Rialto Mercato stop. I didn't find it myself but was introduced on a Walks of Italy tour (Venice Food Tour) which I can highly recommend. Also, a few years ago we did the "bar crawl" with Alessandro Schezzini and enjoyed it a lot in case you do choose a tour.

There is a great restaurant called Da Mamo's in San Marco. Directly across from it is a cicchetti place that looks good although I haven't tried it.
