Hi I went on their website and they said they are open all year. I filled out a request form yesterday. I received an email stating that they are closed in October. I am not sure that i read it right because i do not speak German. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
A lot of smaller family-run places do close in October; that is when they take a break or go on their own vacation. So maybe when they say they are "open all year" it means for the main summer and winter seasons, but not literally "all year." If you want to post the German message I would be happy to translate it for you.
Hi Lynn, Yes, they are open year round. If you'd like to send it either here or in a "message", I'll do my best to translate it for you. I speak and read German fairly well. I've helped a few others with getting a room at the Montanara in the past. Paul
Hi This is what the automated response said. Leider ist unser Haus am 27. Oktober gesehlosen I looked up the word gesehlosen and it said closed. I am having a very hard time finding any place open for one night after Sept 30th. We will be in the area end of October. Found a few places above Trento but not in the main dolomite region. Any suggestions. I am a memember of trip advisor and they have been trying to help me out - but they are running into the same problems. Thanks everyone. Lynn
Hi I am new to this forum. I received two email messages that stated that i ad messages regarding my questions. I went on the site and did not see any responses. Please advise. Thanks Lynn
Hi again, The reply says it's closed OCTOBER 27th. You're looking for Sept, aren't you? I'll get back to you later how I normally reserve a room here.
Paul
oops, my mistake on the dates. Yes, it says it's closed on the 27th.
Is it because i am only staying one night or that i put in standard room instead of the deluxe room. Thanks Any other suggestions of where to stay? I have emailed several places and they close Sept 30th.
Closed is "geschlossen". Is that what it says? It is not at all unusual for small places in the dolomites to be closed in October, as I mentioned above. I went on Venere.com to search for places in Val Badia that would be open in late october and came up with none! However, when I put in "Castelrotto" it came up with 29 places in the area, not all in Castelrotto, but also in Brixen, Ortesei, St. Cristina, Alpe di Siusi, and other places i did not recognize. Could you change your plans to stay in Val Gardena instead of Val Badia?
Yes Thanks I will try that.
Yes i think they are closed. Their calendar says they are open. I will check out other areas but i really like small places. Thanks everyone.
