Christmas week in Rome

Hi all!
I will be arriving in Rome Christmas night and styaing until Dec 30th.

Is there anything in particular I should be aware of?
Will I be able to access ATMs Christmas night, or will they be closed/sucked dry?
Will restaurants/stores be open on the 26th?

Any kind of information you can share will be helpful. I have never been during Christmas, but I hear its a mini high season during that time.

Thanks!

Christmas is a great time to come to Rome. ATM's should still be accessible, but due to the holiday I'd bring some "starter" Euro with me. That weekend will be a LONG holiday weekend and many businesses will be closed. On Saturday, the 26th there will be restaurants and some stores open... but it certainly will not be a "normal" Saturday - far from it.

There will be crowds at the Vatican that week as it is closed on the 25th and 26th.... thus the 27th and 28th it will be VERY crowded! It is a very festive time and you'll certainly enjoy the holidays in Rome.
