Christmas Mass at St. Peter's

Hello all, I hope you are enjoying a happy and healthy Christmas holiday, wherever you may be at this time. Late last evening I observed a beautiful Christmas Mass broadcast by NBC from St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, with enthusiastic interpretation and commentary from an American priest from Chicago. While I am not a Catholic, I still found it a wonderful and moving experience. The Mass was of course celebrated by Pope Francis, but with active participation, readings and singing by many, many others, of all ages, both men and women, clergy and lay people, from around the world and in many languages. It was all the more meaningful since I had been in St. Peter's just two years ago, and could better appreciate the huge and breathtaking sanctuary, filled with Christmas worshippers, also from around the world I am sure. I know that various people on this Forum have expressed plans to be at St. Peter's for this Christmas Mass. I hope those plans worked out, and that you each found the evening to be a meaningful, even thrilling, experience. When you have a chance, I think it would be wonderful if those of you now in Rome, who attended this Mass or other Christmastime experiences, could share those with the rest of us. And now friends, on to a happy, healthy and peaceful 2016 for us all!! With many best wishes to you all, Larry
