Christmas in Venice

Have you been to Venice at Christmas and would you recommend it? Decorations, Christmas dinner, Mass at St. Mark's are all of interest. I have been to Venice in summer only. Booked flight to land Venice Dec. 24 and depart Prague Jan. 3.

Been there done that. Will be quiet. Thankfully no cruise ships. NO hordes. I loved it.

To attend midnight mass at St Marks go early 9:30pm to be certain to get a seat. If memory serves mass begins at 11:30.

There are Christmas markets. I liked the one at Campo San Palo.

Reserve your Christmas Day meal the day you arrive. Look in your neighborhood.

I loved the chill, the amusement rides, the lack of crowds, and discovering a lovely choral presentation by chance by getting lost and walking by a small church and hearing voices. They were rehearsing.

Weather was chilly but not freezing.
