Christmas in Rome

I love to travel in the winter and am thinking about again visiting Rome. I have so enjoyed Paris and London with their holiday lights and decorations. Will I find Rome to be decorated for the holiday season?

Yes! The lights on Via del Corso change every year, and there is the tree in Piazza Venezia, strings of lights in every little alleyway in the Centro Storico, and St. Peter's Square features a giant tree and nativity. Every church has a nativity as well. It's perhaps not as posh as Paris (no grand magasin like Paris) and it is not nearly so large a city as either London or Paris, but it is lovely.

Ron In Rome's website had a post all about Christmas in Rome, with pictures. Unfortunately, the website is down for maintenance and has been for a while, but it's worth looking for if the site comes back up again.

YES! My husband and i visited Rome last year, December 27-January 1. It was perfect! So festive with all the lights and decorations. It exceeded my expectations. We are thinking about going back again this year!
