I'm about to buy a ticket and wondering if I'm crazy to go to Italy from Dec 1st. to the 24th. Will trains and hotels be impossible? I'm traveling alone and very flexible. Any suggestions or help?

Not at all! We visited Milan, Venice, Florence, Siena and Rome over the Christmas holidays last December...trains, hotels, even restaurants were no problem! Plan ahead for museums, sites, etc. since there are shorter hours and some closures. But otherwise it's bella. Buona Natale e Buon Anno!
