There are many nativity scenes in the numerous churches.

Hopefully the light festival will return this year.

Dress in layers. Understand there was some light snowfall last year.

Lots of free choral and music recitals. Look at church bulletin boards for details.

I spent Christmas eve there solo a number of years ago. Recall I watched “ Its a Wonderful Life “ in Italian.

Stroll along the Arno. Wander about the different Piazza’s. Seek out the artisans shops. I got a hand made leather coin purse as a gift.

Go, meander, enjoy dining …

And above all do not miss seeing David. Book an early time slot to avoid the masses. There’s a faux David in the Piazza Della Signoria. See the REAL one inside the Accademia.

Climd the Arnolfo Tower. IMHO better POV of Florence than from the Duomo.

Lastly I thoroughly enjoyed the uncrowded San Marco Museum.

EDIT: The small restaurant, Osteria Buongustai, was my best find. Hopefully, still open and serving tasty meals.
