We are looking to spend Christmas eve day and Christmas day in perhaps in Cinque Terre or Florence or a small village in central Italy. Husband and I are traveling through Europe with Eurorail passes. We can rent a car to get to a smaller village if necessary. Any suggestions on where to spend Christmas. Thank you.

In the winter - much of the Cinque Terre closes down.
There are so many lovely small towns in central Italy. I really don't have much info on Xmas time.
but, I sure others on this site will have lots of excellent info.

Assisi would be my first choice, then Siena, Orvieto, Cortona and others. Google "Christmas (town or region name)" to find events on local web pages.
