Hi,
Our family of 4 , parents and 2 teenagers will be in Rome for Christmas Eve & Day and we will be in Venice For New Years Eve & Day . We are looking for restaurants that are festive and have great food :) We also have 2 gluten free people in our family , so if we could find somewhere that offers gluten free options, that would be fantastic !

More and more restaurants here feature gluten free. I would not fret about that part.
Katie Parla at Parla Food usually posts a guide to Roman restaurants open for Christmas. There are many, but be sure you make a reservation because dining out is popular. The Ghetto (and its many Kosher restaurants) is a good option, BTW.
We like the Christmas Eve fish dinner at Antica Taverna. Several courses, all fish, with wine, the past two years it's been 45 Euros pp.
