We will be in Rome on Christmas Eve. We are staying 2 blocks from Castel Sant'Angelo, and 9 blocks from Piazza San Pietro.
Are there any restaurants in that area which are open for Christmas Eve dinner?

Your best bet is to check with your hotel or host and see what they recommend.
Katy Parla publishes advice every year https://katieparla.com/where-to-eat-in-rome-christmas-new-year/. Reservations are essential! It is a busy time both Xmas Eve and Xmas Day lunch.

Meant to add that we ate here http://www.ilgiardinoromano.it/chi-siamo/ a couple of holidays and were pleased. They do not jack up prices AFAIK. Again, reserve, because the street will be lined with people who did not.

Carl, As an alternative while in Rome several years ago we visited a chef on Bon Appetour. His name is Alesandro and we dined with him and his girlfriend in their home. It was wonderful. We did this twice which is quite something considering all the dining options in Rome. Just a thought.
