My family of 15 will be in Rome Christmas Eve. Any restaurant recommendations for either lunch or dinner. - preferably TRASTEVERE area.
What research have you done on Google?
I just typed in Trastevere restaurants Christmas Eve 2025 and got numerous answers. Gotta love Google.
Christmas Eve 15 persons ? You should really hurry up ...
My advice would be to use Open Table for search and make the reservation at the own restaurant website https://www.opentable.com/
You may run into restaurants being closed on Christmas Eve. We have no experience with Rome on Christmas eve but when we were in Spain and Germany, many if not almost all restaurants were closed late Christmas eve afternoon. The exception were the restaurants associated with large hotels. Good luck.
I'm in the same boat (though only 4 of us), and I came across this blog post: https://www.romewise.com/where-to-eat-in-rome-at-christmas.html#my-Faves-food-places. It was helpful to me- hope it will be to you also!
Not that they would do it, and this is a small place. but Trattoria da Teo in Trastevere would be the perfect setup. We were there in April on a lazy weekday afternoon, and this is place is down an alley almost. Just sat outside and ate & drank for nearly 3 hours. It was the best meal of trip that was full of them.
It has been many years (11 or so), but we’ve eaten here twice on Christmas Eve and also on NYE. https://www.anticataverna1938.it/ They do (used to do?) a seafood based traditional C.Eve meal, multi-course, reasonably priced. Whether they are open, you’ll have to enquire. They do have online booking: click PRENOTA UN TAVOLO near the bottom of the page. Act soon! People eat out for Christmas Eve and especially at lunch on Christmas Day.
No personal knowledge, but this blog has some ideas https://devourtours.com/blog/christmas-restaurants-rome/.
