Thanks! Great idea, I inquired with the hotel. They said they could not do anything until one or two weeks in advance. I appreciated that but would would like to have something nailed down a little sooner.

Check to see if Ristorante Accademia on Piazza San Marco in Florence is doing a Christmas lunch and/or dinner. They do a very popular Thanksgiving meal (both lunch and dinner this year due to the large number of reservations, usually only dinner), and I think they also do a Christmas meal. Food quality is very good. Their holiday meals are typically a fixed menu at a fixed price, drinks not included. For example, their Thanksgiving meal is 35 euro plus drinks. Reserve asap if they're offering a Christmas meal and it fits your criteria.

I ran into a friend this evening who knows the owner of Ristorante Accademia and he's fairly certain they do a Christmas meal. If you don't hear back from your hotel soon, contact the restaurant directly. As I mentioned before, corresponding in English won't be an issue.
