Christmas Day in Florence this Year?

From reading Rick's Graffiti Board, sounds like Christmas Day in Florence requires some planning, with many closures for the holiday and some restaurants offering pricy 'special' meals, most of those that do remain open, at any rate. Still, my wife and I are looking forward to it. Two questions:

  1. Any recommendations for a good restaurant in Florence that is open Christmas Day that is not a tourist trap?

  2. Are there others who are going to be in Florence this Christmas Day who want to get together at a restaurant for Christmas dinner?

Grazie!

It is very difficult finding something open in Florence for Christmas eve or day. I suggest eating at a hotel restaurant as they obviously do not close. Otherwise, it will be very hard to find something open. I lived there so I know how it is for Christmas. Good luck and have fun!!!

Thanks. Our hotel--Pendini Hotel, recommended by Rick--has made a dinner reservation for us Christmas Eve at Trattoria 13 Gobbi. They're still looking around for Christmas Day, but it sounds like a hotel restaurant may be best for then. Appreciate your help.
