I have made a reservation for the two of us seniors in three towns along the lake. We will be there mid-November after a two-week tour of Italy. We have booked Varenna , Lecco and Como City. Varenna is in a great mid lake location but many things will be closed at that time of year. We are traveling by train which make Varenna a good transportation location. We booked Lecco into a 4 star Hotel at a good rate but the Ferries stop running on Nov 3rd. Lecco has a train station in which to get to Varenna and the ferries in the mid lake area, and then Como City which is the largest on the Lake and more things are open at this time of the year including the ferries. It takes longer from Como City to get around the lake as the train doesn't go along the lake but instead goes to Lugano. We are looking for advice on this since we will be in off season in Mid-November.
