Chiusi car rental - Auto Europe or Aesserent

I requested a quote from both Auto Europe and Aesserent. Auto Europe's price is about 30% lower than Aesserent. I have read that Aesserent is directly across from the train station and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. Those things are important, but maybe not worth 30% more to me.

So...., if anybody has picked up a rental car in Chiusi, from either of these companies, I would love to hear if you were satisfied. Are Auto Europe's prices really that good or am I going to pay for "extras" when I pick up the car?

I have read on this forum that AutoEurope will match any lower price quote, so maybe you should contact them and ask about this.

Cheryl,
You realize that Autoeurope is just a broker and they use the major car rental places. If you ask Autoeurope to put you with Hertz in Chiusi their office is only about 100 meters from the station. Autoeurope has a great reputation and the only extra is the road tax which is spelled out in the contract on line.

We used Auto Europe and they linked us up to Europcar in Chiusi. After we booked we got notice Europcar had moved locations on Chiusi. When we got off the train in Chiusi it took a while to find it but with assistance from a nice Australian accented Italian at the nearby gelato bar we headed in the right direction. I think it is such a new location that we couldn't find any address online. If you look online, if you type in Ford dealership Chiusi, that will be the address because it's in the same building. If you take a right out of train station, go for about two blocks, turn right and you will go down under the train tracks and up on the other side. Just head straight and go past several businesses. In the distance straight ahead you will see a Ford dealership sign. Europcar rental is in the dealership. It was a longer walk than we expected (about 3/4 mile at most). It would have been a difficult walk with lots of luggage because we didn't have sidewalk all the way but we just had one bag each. It was hot though and I was sweating tons by the time we got there. They were very efficient at Europcar and had upgraded us to a Mercedes because ours planned vehicle had been in a wreck earlier that day. There are also taxi's available to take you there. We were pleased with the service, just somewhat confusing since they were so new to their location by only a few weeks.

Thanks everybody! I really appreaciate your responses. This helpline has been a great deal of help in planning our trip to Italy. Everything (I hope) is set and we're just counting down the days until we leave :)
