Has anyone been to Chiusi? Worth it? We are thinking of a day trip from Orvieto in October 2015, or possibly spending one night. We are interested in seeing the ruins.
We were in Chiusi in October 2014. The town was a bit of nothing--really nothing to see. We did not go to ruins but we have seen plenty of ruins on our travels. We were in Chiusi for perhaps an hour and left. We had a car so headed to Montepulciano instead.
I would go to Todi instead, if you have a car.
Nothing in Chuisi, but a good place to change trains... : > )
Chiusi has a newish, really excellent Etruscan museum. When there, you can sign up for a visit into some subterranean tombs. We visited about 10 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if you could reserve ahead on-line now. If you're into ancient history, it would be a very worthwhile day trip.
