I note on official website for Accademia and other museums that children 6-17 years old are free. But, it also shows a price of 8.75 Euros. Which is it? Do we have to have proof of age? Our 15 year-old grand daughter may appear older than 15. Are these prices for everyone or just EU residents?

You will notice that 'free tickets' cost 4 Euro here i.e. that is the cost of buying on line or reserving tickets. I suspect the 8.75 might be from a jobber middleman adding a fee.
Children of any nationality are free. There is a 4 Euro reservation for any reservation free, reduced or full priced.
