Suggestions for an agriturismo in Chianti region. Staying only 3 nights then heading to Pienza for a week. We will be traveling by car. Appreciate any traveling experiences in this region. Thank you.
Fran, we stayed at an agri in Castellina in Chianti, and absolutely loved it. We got a self-contained apt with an awesome view, pool, in a quiet area, with access to some of the great little hill towns. It was less than 1/2 mile off the freeway, had helpful owners, and our spacious apartment only cost $75 EU/nite. There are other agris that offer home cooked meals, etc., in that area. Check out the pics and reviews of agritourisimo Borgo Sicelle in Trip Advsior.
Thank you so much for your quick reply. We will also check out Trip Advisor. Fran
The best way to see Chianti is to drive Highway 222 - the pretty road that runs through its heart. Stop in the towns along the way and take side routes that appeal to you. You'll find wineries, wine tasting rooms, Etruscan tombs, outdoor markets, etc.
