Chef's Wife B&B in Venice

We are considering stayin at the Chef's Wife B&B in Venice, but it seems to be near the train station and could be busy and big crowds.(See Ricks Italy book on Venice, near the train station). Does anyone have any info this B&B? Or a favorite, reasonable hotel in Venice? Kerry

How soon are you going? And can you define "reasonable" in either dollar or euros? Very few people want to stay at an "unreasonable" hotel. :-) We really love Pensione Guerrato, a Rick favorite, near the fish market (across the Grand Canal from where the Chef's Wife B&B is). That said, I looked at the location of The Chef's Wife B&B and it would be fine. It's away from the main traffic flow that goes from the train station to San Marco, and the n'hood it's in is Cannaregio - very charming. Here are some photos I took in that district: Cannaregio May 2011. You could also do a Google Images search for more. Happy travels.

Stayed at Hotel Bel Sito in Venice a few years ago. It's small, charming and was inexpensive by Venice standards. It's on a cute little Piazza, very close to St. Mark's, so the location can't be beat. They've remodeled since then, but still have the same charming little venetian glass chandeleirs, etc. Prices have gone up a little since then. Not familiar with Chef's Wife B&B, but I think Bel Sito's location beats that one.
