Note that "codeshare" agreements, where airlines sell tickets on other
airlines flights with a different flight number, is not quite the same as an
"interline" agreement.
If you can see a flight option that includes your two flights as one ticket
(which means there's an interline agreement) then there's a chance you
can check the bags through, even if you have two separate tickets at
this point.
But, I agree with everyone else that the possibility of this is low. I don't
see your flights on itasoftware as a connection option, which probably means
no go.
However, you might want to take a trip to Pensacola Airport before your trip and
ask the AA agents in person if they as a matter of course can do what you are
asking. If not, well, at least you know for sure upfront.
