When I depart from Rome this summer (July) heading home, I need to be at the airport by 6am. Where's a cheap, good place to stay or any suggestions in general to organize this leg of my journey.

Last year we stayed at the Domina Guest House twice and liked it very much. Interesting neighborhood with some nice local restaurants nearby. Tons of food in the kitchen/breakfast room. Comfortable, quiet, clean, nice bathroom. In April and in November it was under $100 for a double room, but will be a bit over that in July. For 6:00am flights we have also stayed at the Hilton twice and just walked over to the terminal --- much, much more expensive but it's nice not to depend on a taxi or shuttle. Eat inside the airport. It's annoying to be paying for all the extra stuff at the Hilton that we don't want or need, but, yeah, so convenient.
