Is a UK adapter going to work in Italy?
I figured this one out so never mind

For the benefit of anybody else reading this post, the answer is NO. UK and Italian plugs are totally different.

Chris, we can use 2-prong adapters for Italy, can't we? My understanding is that the 3-prong is grounded and 2-prong is not grounded.
I've seen a few European outlets that appeared to be designed to take UK-style plugs, but the traditional UK plug has blades, whereas in Italy the plugs have round prongs.

Correct. A standard 2-pin/prong Europlug non-grounded will work in Italy (photo here: https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-f55994e92f9470f1abc14c2114093e41-c )
A Europlug will not work in the UK, as you can see from the photo I linked to last time, in the UK they have square pins, not rounded ones.
A 2-pin ungrounded Europlug (like I have on my phone charger) works in all of Europe EXCEPT the UK and Ireland; 3-pin plugs are different in Italy / Switzerland / rest of Europe.
