Changing flights at FCO (passport control for non-Shengen country)

Hello all,

Some help please. I have to change flights at FCO. I'm arriving at FCO at noon and have to catch a Wizzair flight to Bulgaria (Non-Shengen). I'm arriving at Terminal 3 and Wizzair is supposed to depart from Terminal 3.

Once we deplane, I think I need to: 1. go through passport control/ security; 2. Go pick up my checked in baggage; 3. and then go up to the Departure and gain through security? Does this make sense? I know Wizzair asks for 40 minutes before departure time which creates an extremely tight window for me.

Anyone done this before? Any tips much appreciated!

Probably, assuming that it is not a single ticket with a change of plane in FCO AND your are coming from the US or outside of the Schengen zone AND you have checked luggage. You are on a second plane leaving from the country of Italy. You will go through passport control - two hours or less if lucky. Claim luggage walk out the green door - Nothing to Declare. Go the front, check in with Wizzair, go through immigration exit, then security, and find your plane. You should allow at least three hours if not four. It would be quicker if you were coming from the Schengen zone.

You are *scheduled * to arrive at noon and are planning to take the 235PM flight to Sophia?

If so, you need to have EVERYTHING run like a finely tuned Swiss watch.

I know from personal experience, some aircraft park away from the terminal and require a bus to get to the plane adding time to the boarding procedure. No idea if this is true for your flight but it does add time to the process and the possibility has to be considered.

Good luck

Yes, thank you! Those flights. Shoot. I'll have no checked-in luggage then.
