Does anyone have any suggestions on interesting things to do in Cesenatico?
Nothing much other that relaxing on a chez under a beach umbrella with a cocktail drink at one of the numerous beach club concessions on the beach (nothing to write home about though, certainly not Sardinia or the Caribbean). Maybe take a swim in the not so great water, rent a pedalò, use the pool, sunbathe, and the like.
In the afternoon and evenings you can hang out at the Leonardo’s Port Canal (it was actually designed by Leonardo) and the nearby pretty Piazza delle Conserve. The place is full of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, craftwork shops. That area is really vibrant and comes alive in the late afternoon and evening after people have spent the whole day at the beach.
Last time I was there was in summer 2019, just for a couple of nights to show my wife the place where my parents used to take me for a few summers, when I was maybe 4 to 8 years old. It’s not that great as a beach place, but it was cheaper than the Tyrrhenian side (Viareggio area) and my dad was very very “parsimonious”.
