Cesarine Cooking Classes

I am registered for a Cesarine cooking class near Montepulciano. Is anyone familiar with these? They seem to operate in many places across Italy. Any comments? Thoughts?

Thank you

My husband's done maybe half a dozen of these classes and enjoyed them all. Each has been different, like one you might eat with her family after cooking the meal together, another might be she basically does most of the cooking but giving you little tasks then watching you eat the meal. He speaks Italian very well, so I don't know what it's like if you don't, but presumably they deal with that all the time. All of the classes he's gone to have been just him and the cesarina, not a group. It's interesting to go to untouristed parts of a city or way out in the countryside. I can ask him more about it, if you have specific questions.

I have done one and wish I could do lots more. They are a very reliable group who vet the home chefs and subscribe to the Slow Food philosophy. Good choice.

I get press releases in my job from Cesarine and they sound like terrific classes--the real deal.

In 2020 my wife and me decided for a lunch with a Cesarina for our marriage anniversary lunch. It was our 25th anniversary but we could barely travel due to covid epidemic, so we celebrated with an upscale lunch. It was September, so things were somewhat slowed by the epidemic, it was deemed acceptable to receive people at home but not to have lunch with them, so the host lady had us lunching on our own and just some chat. The host lady actually lived in a road where I have lived for several years.
We still remember the lunch as one of the most memorable in our lives. Just consider that we are Italians by birth and so our expectations were quite high, but it was way better that most restaurants and even better than expected.
I do not know about cooking classes, but knowing in person a couple of other Cesarine I would expect the level to be top. Maybe the whole Cesarine thing is not planned as a tourist endeavour so ladies are chosen mainly on their cooking capabilities than for ability is speaking English and explaining.

About 2 years ago we booked a class through Cesarine with Barbara Rocchi for her " Grandma's Recipe & Traditional Tuscan Cooking" in Montepulciano. Small group of about 6 people, hand made everything, including a fresh Tiramisu. She provide an excellent local Tuscan wine that's become a favorite, Poliziano. I would recommend this class for sure.
