Ceramics shopping in Spello

I have my favorite ceramics shop in Assisi, and one in Orvieto...never been to Spello, going there in a few weeks...hear the ceramics shopping is good. Love to hear from anyone that has been to Spello and can confirm that there are good quality ceramic shops there. Family owned is best.... anyone?

Edited: We are on a hiking trip, so unless we want to pay for a taxi to and back or hike to another town...it ain't happening this trip! We will be in Spello for 2 nights.

Spello is a great place for ceramics, local foods and wines. Sorry, really bad with names but there is a wonderful group of shops right around the town center. I like just wandering around Spello because it is just that kind of place. Catch the views from the side roads and alley ways. There are neat shops there too!

Spello has lots of ceramics shops, I didn't buy any so I didn't keep track of names. While there, stop and see the Roman mosaics that have been uncovered in the public parking lot. Another great place for ceramics is Gubbio.

Ellen,

I am visiting Assisi in June and would love to know about some of the ceramics shops there you enjoy.

Thanks,
Sharon

Not Spello but FYI, there's a town nearby Vicenza here called Nove, it is world famous for ceramics outlets. If you have the time, it's definitely worth a visit.

Nobody, so far, has mentioned Deruta, which is pretty close to Spello. It's a town totally devoted to the production and sale of ceramics. Very likely, the shops in Spello will carry Deruta products; but there's nowhere else you'll see the vast variety offered in the town, itself.
