Central italy cities

My parents and I loved Italy when we went in March. My mom and dad really want to go back but would like to hit central Italy this time, What are some good cities see. We loved Venice the most, and didn't really like rome but loved the sites. We are thinking about Assisi and Siena, are they any others worth visitng.

Lots. you could easily spend five nites in Tuscany/Umbria areas, then head South to amalfi coast, your base could be Sorrento then daytrips to Naples & Pompeii and daytrips South to amalfi coast towns.

My vote is for Orvieto. It has that small Italian Hill Town feel but is easy to get to via train.

If you like Renaissance art, go to Florence. If you like food, stay slightly to the north and consider Bologna, Modena, or Parma. If you like small city vibes go to Assisi, Siena, Orvieto, Lucca, or countless other small towns in the area.

Try Pistoia. It is a treasure, little visited by tourists. 15 miles NW of Florence.
