I have a friend who lives in Cento, Italy. I was thinking about visiting her there.
I haven't been to that part of Italy before. I was wondering if anyone had any information about that town, and area and if they had any recommended places to stay in or near Cento. And also, any ideas for a good itinerary for around 7-10 days in that area. I have not been to Bologna either.
Also, what is the best way to get to Bologna from the U.S., specifically California.....grazie mille.
Bologna has an airport
Check Google flights
Not sure where in Calif you are flying from but I know United/Lufthansa from LAX thru Frankfurt to Bologna is an option
Since Cento is close to Bologna this recent thread might be helpful

Bologna is a foodie city with at least two important food-producing towns nearby and accessible via day trips: Parma (Parmesan cheese) and Modena (balsamic vinegar). Ferrara and Ravenna are also excellent destinations for those interested in history and art. There are several car museums in the area as well.
I found enough to keep me very busy in Ravenna for 3 nights (2 days), but I am a huge fan of mosaics, so YMMV.

As Christine pointed out, Google Flights is a good place to start your search. You can try different cities and dates quite easily and then if you find some flights you like, it will link you to the airline. https://www.google.com/travel/flights
