25 years ago I took my mother to Florence and we ate at a wonderful basement/cellar restaurant in Oltrarno -- I seem to recall it being a bit west of Santo Spirito. We had a tasting menu with wine pairing and a really wonderful time. Would love to go there again but am not finding it. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Check the photos on Google apps above and see if that is the one. I spent a lot of my young years at that place, and it is in a basement/cellar below street level. Can’t think of any other, but there might be others that I don’t know.

that looks like it and the location is right. It was this wonderful evening with my mother then. 80 as I am now -- we got a little sloshed having underestimated our consumption given the many courses and bottles and also didn't realize vin santo was so potent -- so we sort of giggled our way back across the Arno to our hotel -- wonderful night and I have a great picture and it does look like that place. thanks so much.
