What sort are of service plan do you have?
What will you need phone for? Calls? Texts? Internet?

We have AT&T and cost us $12/day for unlimited calls/texts. Did all of this easily in advance through our account on line. I used my phone for everything, including GPS. Worked great.

Just came back from a trip to Rome. Prague and Budapest. The only Vodafone tourist option I was given in Rome was 40 E for 100 gb Italy and 10 gb in other countries. The reception was excellent. SMS texts were supposed to be included, but I didn't use it to the USA. Same price in the airport and in town.
