Do i need to buy an adapter or converter or both for my iphone 7 plus when in Italy? And by the way. I don't plan on using phone to call US. Want to disappear. LOL But do want to use phone to make "local" calls in Italy.
Thanks everyone!

To charge your iPhone in Italy all you’ll need is a plug adapter.
thanks Patricia!!!!!
Aloha from Hawaii!
The two-pin Euro plug adapter will work fine since the iPhone chargers only have two non-polarized pins - https://www.amazon.ca/Ckitze-US-EU-Travel-Europe-Adapter/dp/B001EB26MO . This model has the triangular shaped ends which I believe is the correct type to use. AFAIK, all iPhone chargers are designed to operate from 100-240 VAC, 50~60 Hz.
If you're using your home cell number on a roaming plan with your home network, you won't be able to "disappear". You may receive calls at all hours of the day or night if your contacts don't know you're travelling in Europe.
All genuine iPhone chargers are world voltage. There have been recent stories about fake ones (obviously fake, without the appropriate labeling) which have failed spectacularly so it is well worth it if charging an expensive smartphone to use a genuine apple charger or one made by a reputable other company.
All you need for an iPhone is a good USB to Lightning cable and a good wall to USB plug. And a physical plug adapter so you can plug it into the Italian wall.
Thanks Ken and Nigel!
Nigel we stop in London/Heathrow for brief 2 hours then on to Italia!
To use your phone in Italy you have to make sure you either have some type of international plan or will purchase a local sim card. To use a local sim you phone needs to he unlocked.
Hi Frank II
Thank you. Was aware of that.
I have an unlocked iphone. Talked to my carrier and they gave me step by step to use phone with WiFi calling: Meaning don’t need a carrier if WiFi is available. I mention all this because did u try this?
Did u purchase SIM card at Vodaphone? Was it expensive?
Thank you
PS That’s Vodafone
Just worth a mention. A lot of Italian's prefer what's app, so they don't get charged for international calling or testing. Easy to download & use.
Thanks Katie!
