We will be celebrating my 70th birthday in Verona. Does anyone have any suggestions for doing something "special" for that day? We already have plans for visiting the tourist spots as part of a formalized tour of the Veneto and Alto Adige beginning the following day. Maybe something like a Verona street food tour or a special restaurant (does not have to b e fancy, just good food with a local flair. As my wife does not drink alcohol, winery tours would not be appropriate. Thanks for your suggestions.

Just being in Verona on your birthday isn't special enough? You don't say when you will be there, but if it's in the summertime how about watching an opera performance in the roman arena?
I'm not much of a foodie, but I had a delightful dinner at Osteria Sottoriva near the Sant' Anastasia church. It wasnt fancy, but atmosphere was wonderful and the food was memorable enough that I still have fond memories nearly 3 years later.

Birthday is the 10th of September. The schedule for the Arena only goes to the 6th, but that was a consideration. They have concerts before and after that date, but apparently nothing on the 10th.
