I use CBD at home for sleep aid. Any experiences with brining liquid CBD through US security or customs going through England or Italy? I read that England is ok with CBD with THC less than 0.3% and Italy with THC less than 0.6%. I know liquids have to contain less than 100ml through US security. Any feedback? Thanks.
You are about to get a variety of replies, some Anecdotal stories and assurances either way.
My advice is that if there is the slightest chance that this could create an issue, why not change sleep aids for the duration of your trip? It may be your favorite, buy it is not the only one out there. I know I've seen some extremely sad stories of people being denied boarding on cruise ships because of CBD.
I would immediately prepare for the trip by stopping the CBD and coming up with a different sleep routine. Regardless of THC level, CBD is treated like a drug in places. Why buy trouble? You don't want to go on a trip worrying about police examination of your stuff.
Why not wait and buy it once you get to Italy?
I also use CBD for sleep and usually take it everywhere. I have flown with it to England with no trouble, but the CBD gummies I use contain less than .1% THC. I'm hoping to take mine next November - flying into Brussels and home from Munich.
Those suggesting alternatives for sleep probably don't suffer from insomnia. I've tried just about everything out there and my sleep formulated CBD gummies are much better than anything else I've tried.
Remember you only go through US immigration and customs on returning to the US. You "supply" should be very small by then. The only place you would have problems would be customs in Europe and customs is rarely anything more than a walk through the green door. I don't think you will have any problems. Don't go to Russia.
The TSA allows it as long as it's less than 0.3%. You can bring it in your carry on or checked luggage. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/medical-marijuana
And you have already researched Italy, so I'd say you're good to go.
I just today received a response to the question regarding bringing CBD gummies to Italy from the US. i am posting it here so that others will now know definitively that you cannot bring gummies to Italy from the US because they first and foremost have to be on the FDA approved list for medical use and currently they are not. However, she did say that you could bring your label for reference and purchase them all over Italy. Here is a portion of the letter I received. I hope this helps! The last line sums it up.
