I am trying to book a flight from Catania in Sicily to Naples for October. I have found a site called wegolo which appears to offer discounted rates for that time but I have never heard of them and so am hesitant to book a flight through them. Has anyone had experience with this site? Any other suggestions for a cheap flight would be much appreciated. We don't have time to take a train or drive.
I am flying between Venice and Catania in October on Alitalia. Not my favorite airline, but the price is low and the duration of the flight is short, so I can do that. The space between Naples and Catania is even smaller, so I would look into this option. I have read that Alitalia offer the most reliable service between Sicily and the rest of Italy.
There are two airlines on this route: www.alitalia.it www.airitaly.it There is also a daily overnight car ferry with private cabins and reclining seats: www.tttlines.it There are also daylight and overnight trains: www.ferroviedellostato.it
Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. We just went to the Air Italy site and found the exact same fares as on wegolo.com. The Air Italy site is much easier to use. We were able to get two tickets for a grand total of €80.20. I must say though that the Overnite ferry in a cabin sounded very appealing.
Excellent price. Lower than the cost of a private cabin on the overnite ferry, and quite competitive with the cost of the daylight train.
