Going to be in Catania late May early June. Will be exploring street food and smaller trattorias for lunch but looking for any suggestions for a nice sit down traditional Sicilian dinner.
thanks

We enjoyed our (seafood) dinner at LE TRE BOCCHE. You can choose your fish or shellfish fro the iced display in front if you like. Staff do not have much English but the menu is translated:
For a little more upscale, SAPIO.
There are many restaurants in the fish market area, under the umbrellas along Via Gisira; I like VUCCIATA; KITCHEN MARKET. But it's very casual, and very inexpensive, so maybe you are doing that type of restaurant for lunch; waiters speak English.
ME CUMPARI TURIDDU is very good for non-fish traditional food.
We were in Catania last month and our favourite restaurant, perhaps of the whole trip, was I Cappriciusi, which is primarily seafood. We also had a nice dinner at Me Cumpari Turiddu but the service was very odd (which is normally something I rarely notice or comment upon but we waited something like 45 minutes for our desserts and it felt like they kind of forgot about us). We've enjoyed Vucciata at the fish market for lunch as well.
