We will be flying into Catania on July 15 and departing July 18. We have some heritage there that we would like to visit. We plan on staying two nights in Taormina and one night in Catania due to an early flight on the 18th.
Does any one have any hotel suggestions for Taormina or insights into Catania? ARe there any places to avoid in Catania?

I LOVE the Hotel Villa Angela. The rooms are immaculate, the views of Mt. Etna from every room/deck are incredible and the hotel staff are very nice.
It can be a little pricey during high season, but well worth it.

Hotel Villa Shuler in Taormina is exceptional. It is beautiful, charming, great sea views or garden views(the garden is incredible) and very reasonable. Lots of stairs, which is just something to know about and wasn't a problem for us. Check out their website. They have good good photos. I believe it is www.hotelvillaschuler.com
