Which catacombs do you recommend?
Catacombs of St. Callistus
Catacombs of Saint Sebastian
Catacombs of Saint Domitilla
Catacombs of Saint Agnes
Catacombs of Saint Priscilla
Also, one more question. I was reading somewhere in Frommer's that Rome's North American College offers free tours of St. Peter's basilica. Has anyone been on this tour?

If you are going to go to either Callistus or Saint Sebastian you might as well do both. They are very near to each other on the Appian Way. We did those and also the Catacombs of Saint Priscilla. Each one of these offers something diferent and unique. Priscilla was a bit of a challenge to find because we didn't have good directions or a good map but we made it. How many do you have time for? Are they near other things you want to see. I enjoyed the three that we went to.
