Looking for accommodations in this area within easy exploration of Perugia, Spella, and within 1-1/2 hours of Orvieto to base for 3 nights to explore Umbria. Altough it is our honeymoon we are not looking to spend a fortune,

I think Assisi is the best. Check B&B Paradiso44. They have nice loft apartment and beautiful view of Monte Subasio.

Try Antica Olivaia agriturismo. It's outside Orvieto, with a great view of the town from the grounds. Three nights per week the owners will cook dinner for you if you want. Restful, peaceful setting but near to many Umbrian sites.
