From our rental in central Naples this fall, we're considering heading up to Caserta for a day trip. Any advice about best way to get there? Plan a visit? etc. Thanks
Caserta is a short train ride from Napoli Centrale.
Thanks Sasha. Any advice about planning a day trip once there?
You will want to go here! It’s very beautiful! Purchase your timed ticket a month or so ahead. I recommend taking the golf cart instead of the shuttle or the long, long walk out to the end of the gardens. The royal palace is visible as soon as you exit the train station and cross the street.

I ate at Basilico Pizzeria twice during my two days there. They have an amazing Regina pizza! Buffalo mozzarella cheese, fresh, sweet Marzano tomato sauce, olive oil and fresh basil. An absolutely perfect crust - wow!
And Pasticceria F.lli Chirico dal 1996 if you’re in the mood for a delicious pastry!
Oh, and brush up on your tourist Italian words. Don’t expect to speak a lot of English here.
