Has anyone visited the Cascine park in Florence? Is it easy to get to from central Florence by bus? I've done some reading on it, but don't know if it's worth a visit. How does it compare to the Boboli gardens? (probably a lot less hills)
Given all the other choices you have in Florence, you may want to pass on this. If you decide to go, take the ATAF bus 17e from the Duomo or bus station. There's a big market there, I think on Tuesdays. But absolutely do not be there after dark, it's known to be unsafe at night.
Thanks, Kent. Since I've visited much of FLorence in previous visits, I thought i'd give this park a try, but will definitely stay away at night. Thanks for the advice!
It's a couple of miles west of Ponte Vecchio, on the north side of the river. Too far to walk--I think that's the correct bus # but these things change so you'll check when you get there.
